Cyber Security Technical Specialist

 

My client, a Central Government body are looking for a Cyber Security Consultant with a minimum of five years’ experience in a Cyber Security Operations Centre. They need this candidate to lead a team of tier 1 Cyber Security Analysts, liaise with Tier 2 colleagues, the Cyber Security Operations Centre Manager, the DevOps team as well as engaging with key stakeholders and senior leaders.

 

The role will involve the following:

 

  • Configuring open source toolsets
  • Utilising toolsets for analysis e.g. SIEMs (Splunk, ELK, Alien Vault etc.), IDS/IPS (e.g. network and host-based_, NAC, FIM, DLP, vulnerability management, network monitoring, cyber security case management (e.g. SNow)
  • Monitoring, analysis and recovery procedures of security technologies
  • Performing deep-dive incident analysis, correlating data from various sources
  • Targeted cyber-attack analysis, response and coordinating incident response processes

 

In order to be successful you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

 

  • Have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Cyber Security Operations Centre
  • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platforms and Case Management
  • Functional experience performing monitoring, analysis and recovery procedures of security technologies
  • Functional experience performing deep-dive incident analysis, correlating data from various sources

 

As this is a government based contract you must already hold valid SC Security Clearance. The role is for up to 12 months and is based in the North West.
